Paul Component Engineering

The story of Paul Component Engineering began in 1989 in a small garage in Chico, California. Mountain biking was just taking off when an Austrian businessman discovered Paul's prototype quick release. The young engineer received his first order, and the quick release became the cornerstone of the company. In the 1990s, the first brakes and the legendary LoveLever came onto the market. CNC-machined derailleurs and front derailleurs, all colourfully anodised, soon followed.

Many years, bike shows and parties later, there is an old Texaco warehouse where state-of-the-art machines hum. Some old, hand-operated machines used to build prototypes are still there. The components have been perfected over the years.

The MotoLite and MiniMoto are among the best V-brakes on the market. Classic quick-release skewers, modelled after Tulio Campagnolo, are true gems for lovers of fine components.
