Passionate touring cyclist Gilles Berthoud founded his company in Mâcon (France) in 1977. The first bicycle frames were soon produced in his workshop, followed by hand-sewn bags and stainless steel mudguards. Unsatisfied with the quality of leather saddles, Gilles decided in 2008 to take matters into his own hands and develop his own high-quality leather saddles. In 2015, a young team of passionate craftsmen took over the company.
Driven by perfection and with great attention to detail, Berthoud Cycles continues to manufacture its products in France.
